Billy Perrin receives the Livestock Marketing Association’s Industry Icon Award

Billy Perrin recipient of the Livestock Marketing Association’s Industry Icon award
Billy Perrin, Hugo, Okla., received the Livestock Marketing Association’s (LMA) Industry Icon award during the 2015 LMA Annual Convention and World Livestock Auctioneer Championship in Waco, Texas. Perrin joins Pat Goggins and E.H. Fowler as the only Industry Icon award recipients since the inception of LMA more than 50 years ago.
Shawn Madden, 2001 World Livestock Auctioneer Champion, past LMA executive committee member and co-owner of Torrington Livestock Markets, Torrington, Wyo., presented Perrin with the award. Madden said, “Billy Perrin has successfully owned and operated 5 auction markets in Oklahoma. Without question, he is a man of integrity, intelligence and determination. He is one of the most dedicated friends of livestock marketing in history. He is truly an industry icon, in every sense of the word.”
Beginning in 1990, Perrin had leadership roles with the LMA including Chairman of the Board from 2004 to 2006, Director from 2006 to 2008 and board member of LMA’s Professional Livestock Insurance Company from 2005 to 2013. From 2002 to 2004, Perrin served the LMA as President of the Association.
