E.H. Fowler receives Industry Icon Award

E.H. Fowler, Sedalia, Mo., was presented with the Livestock Marketing Association’s (LMA) Industry Icon Award last month during the 2013 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship and Convention in Montgomery, Ala. Fowler joins Pat Goggins as the sole Industry Icon award recipients since the inception of LMA 50 years ago.
Fowler was recognized for the grand impact he has had on the livestock marketing industry. In 1992, Fowler became a director with the LMA Board of Directors and served the Association until his retirement this year.
LMA President, Tim Starks, noted that while Fowler never wanted to be in the spotlight, he was a very faithful board member and advocate for the auction method of selling. Members of industry recognize Fowler as a man of few words, but words that are carefully selected. As such, peers pay heed to Fowler’s comments, and he is regarded as greatly influential.
In addition to his 21-year tenure on the Board, Fowler’s family owns and operates Central Missouri Sales Co. in Sedalia, Mo.
