World Champion Livestock Auctioneer Dustin Focht to Appear at Northern Livestock Video Auction

Dustin Focht, this year’s World Livestock Auctioneer Champion, will be at Northern Livestock Video Auction (2443 N. Frontage Road, Billings, Mont., 59107) on Monday, July 22, starting at 8 a.m. (MT) and Tues., July 23, starting at 8 a.m. (MT). Focht will be on the auction block, selling livestock and showing off the chant that made him a world champion auctioneer.
The 2013 Summertime Classic sale at Northern Livestock Video Auction is a 3-day sale selling approximately 100,000 head of cattle.
Focht defeated 30 other contestants to win the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC), held in June in Montgomery, Ala. The WLAC was created and is conducted by the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA), the national trade association for progressive marketing businesses. During his year as champion, Ballou is traveling across the U.S., appearing at LMA member markets and industry events.
Local livestock markets across the country work hard to bring in multiple buyers to bid competitively on sale day, providing true price discovery of the value of all types of livestock, maximizing the return to the seller. In turn, they provide buyers a centralized location with a ready supply of livestock in the offering.
