Many of our members are closely following the 2019 ELD delay we have been working with industry stakeholders to secure. As many know, the 2018 spending package, which included the 2018 ELD delay for livestock haulers, is set to expire on September 30, 2018. Thankfully, through the hard work of our Congressional partners, language that would create a 2019 ELD delay for livestock haulers is in both the House and Senate versions of the transportation spending bills. As is being widely reported, it is highly unlikely that a new budget will be passed by the end of this week. With all likelihood, Congress will pass a continuing resolution which will extend both the 2018 budget and the ELD delay to December 17, 2018. A vote on the 2019 package is not expected until after the November elections.
