Livestock market businesses are heavily regulated by the Packers and Stockyards Act requirements. Passed in 1921, parts of the Act do not reflect changes in the industry. LMA has passed modernizations to the Act in recent years and continues to explore needed updates to P&S Act requirements and agency policy.
